1/ One of most important things I've learned: Severe personality problems find *camouflage.* No one thinks "I'm a sadist" or "I'm a malignant narcissist." They find a belief system/social group that validates their most hateful, destructive impulses & construes them as virtues.

This weekend I went down a rabbit hole and studied the work of Martin Seligman, the father of positive psychology. Seligman's research shows that anyone can build a life filled with happiness, contentment, and meaning. Yes, anyone can have this. Even you. A thread ๐Ÿ‘‡

Doubt-impedance matching. To persuade smart people, you have to start from a posture of genuine doubt that matches theirs and work both of you into belief together. Belief is a relationship variable, not an individual one. It is founded on mutual information, not private.
